RRB Group D 2026 Overview
RRB Group D (Level 1 Central Recruitment) is the mega employment drive conducted by 21 Railway Recruitment Boards to select Track Maintainers, Helpers, Electrical/Mechanical Assistants, Pointsmen, and Porters across all zones of Indian Railways.
RRB Group D 2026 is scheduled to recruit for approximately 32,000 Level 1 posts. The selection pathway comprises a single Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and Current Affairs, followed by a mandatory Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and stringent Railway Medical Examination.
Appointed candidates receive Pay Level 1 (₹18,000 basic pay) under the 7th CPC with monthly in-hand earnings between ₹22,000 and ₹30,000 along with government residential quarters, free Indian Railways travel passes for family members, comprehensive medical healthcare at Railway hospitals, and departmental promotional gateways.
