§1. Background & Candidate Count
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) officially published the written examination results and shortlisted 76,184 aspirants (representing an aggregate ratio of roughly 2.33 candidates per post) for the Document Verification (DV), Physical Standard Test (PST), and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) commencing this September.
§2. Physical Standard Test (PST) Benchmarks
Before stepping onto the running track, every candidate must satisfy digital sensor-based height and chest parameters:
- •General / OBC / SC Male: Height 168 cm, Chest 79 cm unexpanded / 84 cm expanded (Min 5 cm expansion).
- •ST Male: Height 160 cm, Chest 77 cm unexpanded / 82 cm expanded.
- •General / OBC / SC Female: Height 152 cm, Minimum body weight 40 kg.
- •ST Female: Height 147 cm, Minimum body weight 40 kg.
Important Note: If you disagree with the digital height measurement, you have the statutory right to request an immediate on-spot appeal before the District Magistrate's representative presiding over the board.
§3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Running Standards
The PET is strictly qualifying in nature — no marks are awarded, but failing to meet the timeline leads to immediate disqualification:
- •Male Candidates: 4.8 Kilometres within 25 minutes (typically 12 laps on a standard 400m synthetic or clay track).
- •Female Candidates: 2.4 Kilometres within 14 minutes (6 laps of a 400m track).
§4. Technical Protocol on Race Day
- 1RFID Ankle Bands: Each runner is equipped with dual electronic RFID chips strapped to both ankles. The timing mat registers your lap every time you step across the threshold.
- 2Pacing Strategy: Never sprint the first two laps. Target a steady 1 minute 55 seconds to 2 minutes per 400-meter lap to maintain stamina through the final kilometres.
- 3Documentation Checklist: Bring original Class 10/12 marksheets, valid domicile certificate, caste certificate issued before the notified cut-off date, Aadhaar card, and 8 passport photos.
