No. Optional subjects were removed in 2023. UPPSC Mains now includes GS Papers 5 and 6 dedicated exclusively to Uttar Pradesh history, polity, economy, and geography.
Is CSAT qualifying in UPPSC Prelims?
Yes. Paper 2 (CSAT) requires a minimum 33% qualifying score (66 marks out of 200). The Prelims cut-off is calculated solely from Paper 1 (General Studies).
What is the starting salary of an SDM in Uttar Pradesh?
An SDM starts at Pay Level 10 with a starting basic pay of ₹56,100 and an in-hand monthly salary of approximately ₹75,000 to ₹95,000 along with an official car and government accommodation.
